(Ogden-AP) -- A man is under arrest accused of cutting a cat's legs.

The 28-year-old was arrested Tuesday morning on charges of cruelty to animals.

Police say the man gave his friend's cat a bath and when he was done, the cat was bleeding from its back legs, tail and chest.

The cuts were so deep that the bone on the cat's legs could be seen.

Police reports say the suspect told them he would never harm a cat. But the owner of the cat claims the man hates animals and has a history of torturing them.

Police say they found fur on the bathroom floor of the man's home, blood on the mirror and more fur in the bedroom.

Police say they also found drugs and drug paraphernalia while they were arresting the man. The cat is recovering from its injuries.
