(Salt Lake City-AP) -- One lane of Interstate-15 is back open while officers continue to investigate a fatal accident near the Payson exit.
Utah Highway Patrol officers say a southbound driver hit a guardrail, overcorrected, then drove across the median and into oncoming northbound traffic just after 7:30 a-m.
The car hit a northbound pickup truck and the driver of the car was ejected.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as 35-year-old Jaime (HYE-mee) Olivares.
The two occupants of the pickup truck were treated and released from the hospital.
Both southbound lanes of I-15 were closed this morning, but officers have since opened one of the lanes back up while they investigate.
Fatigue may have played a factor in the accident.
