Sam Penrod ReportingMurray police have arrested a suspect wanted for robbing a Burger King and stabbing a worker as he tried to get away. And police say they have linked the man to six other holdups.

Robbery Suspect Arrested

Detectives say it was good old-fashioned police work, but it took several police departments sharing clues to solve seven robbery cases in Murray, Midvale and Sandy.

27-year old Michael Gagon of Murray is the man police say robbed the businesses, mostly fast food restaurants and convenience stores over the last few weeks. It was the violent robbery of a Burger King on State Street two weeks ago tonight that helped to solve all of the robbery cases.

The man went into the restaurant with a knife and got away with money. A worker who chased after him was stabbed several times.

Gagon was actually already in jail when police charged him in the robberies; he was arrested a few days ago on some outstanding warrants. Now he faces attempted murder charges along with seven counts of armed robbery.
