(KSL News) Two men are behind bars this morning after allegedly robbing a craft store in West Jordan.

Police say a suspect entered a Mac's Hobby and Craft store on 70th South and Redwood Road just before closing around 9:00 last night.

Officers say the man pulled a gun on one of the workers, forced her to open a cash register, and give him money. He then went out and jumped in the trunk of a getaway car.

Witnesses got a good description of the vehicle and a license plate number. An officer then chased the car on I-15 to 33rd South, where he stopped the car and made the arrests.

Capt. Gary Cox/West Jordan Police Dept.: "They were able to take the driver into custody and with the help of a K-9 unit, the suspect who'd committed the robbery (was taken) into custody as well."

One of the police dogs was slightly injured during the arrest. He was trying to bite through the backseat to get to the suspect in the trunk. But he is expected to be okay.
