(Rio de Janeiro, Brazil-AP) -- The man who confessed to killing a Utah couple in Brazil is now saying two other people committed the crime.

Thirty-nine-year-old Todd Staheli and his wife, 36-year-old Michelle, were killed November 30th as they slept in their high-security home.

Twenty-year-old handyman Jociel Conceicao dos Santos says he was paid to show two other people how to get into the couple's condominium.

He was placed into Brazil's witness protection program after telling police and human rights officials that he helped others commit the crime.

Though dos Santos had confessed to the crime, authorities questioned his motive and ultimately decided there was not enough information to hold him.
