ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) -- Police arrested 130 juveniles during the annual spring break gathering of high school students, with more than half of the arrests for curfew violations.

There also were 15 citations for liquor violations during the celebration Thursday through Sunday.

The crowd was estimated at 5,000 to 10,000, compared to 10,000 to 15,000 during recent years.

Police spokesman Craig Harding said cold, windy, wet weather may have resulted in fewer visitors. It also appeared that some youth opted to spend the weekend elsewhere, including the Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Kanab, Moab and Las Vegas, he said.
