(KSL News) Police say a driver is lucky to be alive this morning after a shooting in South Salt Lake.

Investigators say both the victim and the suspects were driving when several rounds were fired late last night.

The victim told police he was driving home from work last night on 2700 South when the people in the vehicle behind him started shooting.

Sgt. Carlson/South Salt Lake Police Dept.: "Between 200 East and 250 East, about eight rounds were fired into the car and into some of the neighborhood behind me."

Police say the shots were fired through the front and back windshield, close to the driver's head. The victim was not injured.

Police are now looking for a small, dark, four-door with a loud exhaust system.

They believe two to three people and a nine millimeter pistol were involved in the shooting.
