(KSL News) -- An old, rusty pipe is being blamed for last night's water explosion in Bountiful.
A nearly 50-year old steel immigration pipe suddenly burst, spewing water, rocks and mud ninety feet in the air.
One man says water surged into his house through his chimney and left his basement six inches deep in water.
The city will foot his damage bill,estimated at $10,000.
Workers installed a new non-metal pipe today.
