(KSL News) -- This is Take Pride in Utah month and to kick things off, Governor Olene Walker spoke with 350 fourth graders about the importance of watersheds.
Students from several schools attended Ogden's Water Fair to learn about water conservation and ways to cleanup Utah's Water ways.
The Governor's Watershed Initiative identifies 25 Utah water ways for improvement projects, and Governor Walker hopes citizens will volunteer to help out.
Gov. Walker: "Cleaning up the watershed, planting the watershed makes a difference. Not only today, but in the future. It sounds simple, but it's very important."
Tomorrow a small army of volunteers will plant trees along streams, pick up debris and repair wildlife habitat at a half dozen waterways from St. George to Ogden.
