(KSL News) -- Owners of LaCaille Restaurant found a rather unusual sight on the property this morning.
Salt Lake County Sheriff's deputies say the driver of a car left the restaurant around 11 last night, became disoriented, ended up in a back lot, then drove the car into this pond.
Fortunately, she managed to escape from the car and swim to shore.
Sgt. Kevin Betterton, Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office: They did report it to the management who did look at what they thought would've been any of the ponds that she would have had access to and found nothing last night. This is not an area that's normally accessed by the public and so they didn't look in this area last night, and found it this morning."
The owners called the sheriff's office, and deputies drained the pond to make sure there wasn't anyone else inside.
The accident didn't cause any damage to the grounds, although the car is a total loss.
LaCaille Restaurant is located near 9565 S. Wasatch Blvd.
