(West Jordan-AP) -- Voters say yes to two of the three bonds in West Jordan.

The roughly 10 percent of voters who turned out yesterday approved a bond for a new justice center and approved the open space bond.

The 48-thousand square foot justice center will be built just south of City Hall on South Redwood Road. And the goal of the open space bond is to preserve hiking trails and more of the Jordan River bottoms.

But voters failed to pass a recreation bond for new baseball diamonds and rodeo grounds, which could spell the end of the Western Stampede Rodeo. This July could make this year the last of the 50-year-tradition before crews raze the old rodeo grounds.

The two approved bonds will cost taxpayers about 24-dollars more a year on a 150-thousand dollar home.
