John Daley ReportingA manhunt is underway in Salt Lake City tonight for a man who, police say, shot his wife. The victim is in the hospital with serious injuries.

It happened at 12:30 this afternoon at the SkyHarbor Apartment complex. Neighbors saw the woman with obvious gun shot wounds come out of an apartment, and called police.

Police say it's probably the result of a domestic dispute, and believe the woman was shot by her husband.

Det. Phil Eslinger, Salt Lake Police Dept.: "To the best of my knowledge, what the witnesses have is that she comes out of the apartment complex and they see her with the gunshot wounds and that prompts them to call the department."

Police declined to say where the woman had been shot or how many times, and they have not yet released the victim's name.

They have released the name of the man they're looking for: Kenrod James. He's 37 years-old, 6-feet, 2 inches tall, 200 lbs., African American, and has a large tattoo on the inside of his left forearm.

He drove off in a tan, Cadillac Escalade with California license plates, with a trailer on the back.

Police within the last couple of hours have located that trailer, but are still looking for the car and the man.

The woman was taken to LDS Hospital and is listed in serious condition.
