(KSL News) -- A motorcycle accident up Big Cottonwood Canyon sent a 22-year old West Jordan man to the hospital this afternoon.
The man and his brother were riding motorcycles up the canyon when they came around a curve and hit loose gravel.
The victim went over the edge and was ejected from the bike.
He fell about 80 feet and suffered minor injuries.
Dep. Brent Davis, Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office: "Considering where he went off, and the steepness of the hillside, he's extremely lucky not to have any worse injuries than what appeared to be here on scene."
Deputies say both men were wearing helmets.
Witnesses say the two were traveling at high speeds.
