(Salt Lake City-AP) -- It's a happy ending for a 25-year-old in Salt Lake City who averted tragedy just before her wedding day.

Traci Freebairn suffered a stroke last Friday at her wedding rehearsal dinner at Trolley Square. She woke up the next day in intensive care and realized it was her wedding day.

But that didn't stop her and her groom from taking the nuptials.

Freebairn exchanged vows with Jason Hawk from her hospital bed. Her husband also wore a hospital gown so the couple would match.

The couple live in Washington but will stay in Salt Lake City for now.

The new Mrs. Hawk says friends and family she's known "forever" were by her side and it makes the wedding ceremony much sweeter because she survived what could have been a tragedy.
