(KSL News) -- Thomas S. Monson, of the first presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints, received a special honor tonight.
The Salt Lake and Utah Valley Chapters of the BYU Management Society, presented President Monson with this year's Distinguished Utahn Award.
He was chosen, among other things, because of his distinguished career in publishing and print.
President Monson served as General Manager of the Deseret News Press, and as Chairman of the Board of the Deseret News Publishing Company.
