(KSL News) A late night accident sends four people to the hospital in Salt Lake County.

Sheriff's deputies say excessive speed was involved in the crash. Both vehicles involved were totaled.
A Jaguar and Toyota sedan were headed westbound on Fort Union Boulevard just before 11:00 last night.
Deputies say the Jaguar rear-ended the Toyota and then grazed a telephone pole.
The man inside the Jaguar was taken by medical helicopter to LDS Hospital in critical condition. Authorities say he was not wearing a seatbelt.

Sgt. John Barker/ Salt Lake County Sheriff's Dept.: "I can't caution people enough to wear their seatbelts. It keeps them where they belong instead of banging around inside a car when a collision happens."
The three women inside the Toyota were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators do not know if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
