(KSL News) -- A little boy is in the hospital after being hit by a car in Salt Lake County at 6852 S. 2930 East.
Sheriff's deputies say the five-year-old boy was riding his bike when a teenager driving a car slammed into him.
The accident is still under investigation. One witness says the boy was riding home and both the car and the child were southbound.
Doreen Seibert, Witness: "I heard the crash. When I turned my head I saw a small yellow bicycle in the middle of the road in pieces. And I had to take a few steps to see the body, which was a few feet forward."
The boy was concious and crying, but he had head injuries. He was flown to Primary Children's Hospital in serious condition.
Police are reminding drivers to slow down and bikers to wear helmets.
