(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Top leaders in the National Guard say changes are coming in the way the group organizes itself.

That news out of Salt Lake City today, where the Reserve Officers Association is holding its national convention.

The Guard officials say the nature of America's new enemies and the new ways reserve soldiers are being used mean they've got to change their philosophy.

They say combat in Iraq and Afghanistan are rendering obsolete the old notion that reserve duty is "one weekend a month and two weeks a year."

Officials have instituted a push to be more upfront about when and how often soldiers would be mobilized and to quantify their pay and benefits.
