(KSL News) -- Brigham Young University is closing its Department of Travel Study due to current world conditions.
The department will officially close August 31st. A few previously scheduled programs will operate after that date, but no more will be scheduled.
BYU says the continuing threat of terrorism and deteriorating world environment prompted the decision.
Travel Study provides educational travel opportunities to the BYU community and public and is not to be confused with BYU Study Abroad Program for students.
