(Salt Lake City-AP) -- A fund that helps military families pay the bills while their spouses are deployed is running out.
The United Way Homefront Response fund has helped about 100 families to catch up on mortgage payments, taxes, home and car repairs, groceries and other bills.
But the 173-thousand dollar fund is now at about seven-thousand dollars. And there are still families who need help.
A spokesman with the United Way of Salt Lake says if Utah residents don't open up their wallets to help, the program will have to close down when the money runs out.
