OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- A 15-month old boy was killed when he was run over by a pickup during a holiday weekend camping trip.

Tyler Larsen of Clearfield wandered away from his family and the group lost track of the toddler shortly after arriving at the North Fork campground north of Pineview Reservoir on Friday evening, Weber County Sheriff's Sgt. Dale Bridges said Sunday.

When campground workers who were collecting the site fee were backing out of the site, the pickup ran over the boy, Bridges said.

"Basically, everybody lost site of the toddler. He got out of sight and out of mind," Bridges said. "The little boy had apparently gotten behind the vehicle they were driving and was in a position where nobody could see him."

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities were still investigating the death, but Bridges did not expect any charges to be filed.

"I do believe it was an accident -- a very tragic accident," he said.
