(Nephi-AP) -- A 15-year-old is dead after an accident during a trip to Burriston Ponds near Nephi.
The Juab County Sheriff says the boy was on a trip with the members of a residential treatment center last week when the accident happened.
The sheriff says the boy was swinging from a rope and landed in the pond. Shortly after, he yelled for help.
The group managed to get the boy back to shore and perform CPR on him. He was in critical condition at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center since the accident and died yesterday morning.
The boy's name was not released. An autopsy will be performed on the boy's body.
The center's staff members say they don't plan to return to the pond until they revise their policies on activities.
