(KSL News) -- Teenage jealousy is behind a shooting in West Valley City last night.
A 16-year old apparently called the girlfriend of another teen, and they decided to settle the issue at the park. Six or eight people showed up and police say the confrontation quickly got out of control.
Sgt. Dalan Taylor, West Valley Police Dept.: "A fight broke out between them. Apparently, there were some bats that were being used and eventually, one suspect pulled out a gun and fired several shots."
Police say the shooting is not gang related and the gunman who fired the shots is still on the loose.
The victim was shot in the leg and stomach. He is in fair condition.
