(KSL News) A 14-year-old girl is shot while walking to a party in Salt Lake City.

Police say the girl was walking with a group when a car pulled up beside them near Navajo and Pacific Avenue, and someone in the back seat pulled out a gun.

The gun didn't fire, so witnesses say someone in the front seat tossed the passenger another gun.

Teen Injured in Likely Gang-Related Shooting

The teenager was shot in the right hand, but should be okay.

To get away from the shooters, the group jumped into a car but the suspects continued to chase them. It ended when the group crashed into a taxi cab.

The suspects took off, but police later found their vehicle abandoned.

Officers believe the shooting is gang related.
