SALT LAKE CITY -- The Mountain Crest Mustangs have taken over the top 4A spot in this week's KSL coaches' poll.

The Mustangs just edged out No. 2 Timpview in the voting. After being upset by Highland 9-7 last Friday, previous No. 1 Bountiful drops to No. 3. Springville stays at No. 4 after a thrilling 33-27 win over rival Spanish Fork. Woods Cross is having their best season in years and makes their debut in the poll at No. 5. Pine View, Provo, and Spanish Fork all received votes.

In 5A, Bingham continues to hold the No. 1 spot after winning their 28th consecutive region game. They host Riverton this Friday in a game that will determine the Region 3 championship. Pleasant Grove stays at No. 2 after getting a huge road win over previously No. 3 Brighton. Alta moves up to No. 3 as they continue to win despite the loss of starting quarterback Jordan Brown. Brighton slips to No. 4 while Lone Peak remains at No. 5 after defeating Jordan 38-27. Syracuse, Davis, and Jordan all received votes.

Juan Diego remains at No. 1 in 3A after a road win over Bear River. The Hurricane Tigers remain at No. 2 after a 42-0 victory over Canyon View and host Cedar in a big Region 9 battle on Wednesday. Park City comes in at No. 3 after a 71-24 win over American Leadership as the Miners continue to rack up big yardage on the ground. After losing their first game of the season at 4A Westlake, the Wasatch Wasps remain at No. 4 with a big game coming up on October 22nd against Park City that will likely decide the Region 10 title. After a 40-0 win over Ben Lomond, the Morgan Trojans take over the No. 5 spot in the poll. Cedar and Bear River also received votes.

The 2A poll remains the same as teams enter the final week of the regular season. South Sevier remains undefeated but will face a tough test this week from #5 Enterprise.

Rich beat Duchesne in the battle of 1 vs. 2 Friday night and us the last undefeated team in 1A. Monticello and Milford switch spots at No. 3 and No. 4.
