SALT LAKE CITY -- Dozens of recreation and parks officials from all over the country are in Utah this week, and Tuesday they left their mark.

"For a lot of the folks, it's their first time to Utah and they really wanted to experience Utah. And what a great way to do it, by putting your hands in the dirt," said Martin Jensen, spokesman for Salt Lake County government.

The group is meeting at the Salt Palace for national meetings, but on Tuesday they got some fresh air at Sugarhouse Park and planted dozens of new trees.

The event is part of Salt Lake County's larger Million Trees program to plant 1 million trees in the county.
