RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) -- Type VermontDemocrats.com in your computer and you'll be in for a surprise.

A Utah man is buying up the domain names for various Democratic Party Web sites and linking them to President Bush's re-election Web page.

Twenty-eight-year-old Jed Merrill of Park City, has already registered the domain names of VermontDemocrats.com, MaineDemocrats.com and others.

Merrill says he's a Bush supporter and wants to get the Republican president's message out.

Vermont Governor James Douglas -- a Republican -- says he regrets -- quote -- "any chicanery on the Internet."

And state Democrats say the tactic is an annoyance.
