(KSL News) Olympic champion and home town boy Cael Sanderson is basking in the glow of his victory.
The Heber native defeated a South Korean wrestler last night in Athens for his first gold medal. It's also the only gold captured by U.S. wrestling.
After the match, Sanderson reflected on his achievement.
Cael Sanderson/ Gold Medal Winner: "It feels great. I mean, this was kind of the birthplace of everything, it is the birthplace. We've known that for years, knowing that this was going to be a pretty special Olympics, so it's awesome.""
Two more American wrestlers are in medal contention in today's final day of competition.
