FORT DUCHESNE, Utah (AP) -- A Fort Duchesne woman is in jail charged with beating her two grandsons, one of them into a coma.
Charlissa Sireech appeared in federal court yesterday on two charges of assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
F-B-I agents say the woman repeatedly abused the boys on the Uintah-Ouray Indian Reservation by hitting them with a wooden back scratcher or burning them with a curling iron. On August 30th, agents say she slammed her grandsons into the hard floor and the four-year-old was taken to the hospital with head injuries. He's in a coma.
Doctors called police after seeing his three-year-old brother who was also at the hospital with bruises and burns.
Sireech faces up to 10-years in prison if convicted.
