Alex Cabrero reporting Some clues, but no solid answers. The Cache Valley family searching for a lost loved one in China, returned home this afternoon.

They still think he's alive, but for some reason can't contact them.

Roy and Michael Sneddon told me they had lots of worries when they decided to go to China to search for David. They didn't know if he was kidnapped, murdered, or fell while hiking.

But now, after coming home, they believe he's alive. But the circumstances about it all, are a little strange.

There's always plenty of excitement when picking up loved ones at the airport. But for the Sneddon family, it was also a little sad.

Kathleen Sneddon, Son is Missing "I have dreams of them finding him the last minute. Dreamed about it last night that they found him, and came with him to surprise us."

No one has heard from her son, David Sneddon, since last month. He was living in China, and loved to hike. But when his phone calls stopped, the Sneddons, who live in Cache County, knew something was wrong.

His father and two brothers decided to go to China to get clues.

Michael Sneddon, David's Brother: "We followed David’s course through tiger leaping gorge, had several accounts, quite good eyewitness contacts of him."

They found David's backpack at a guesthouse near where he was hiking. But they also found out a former friend of David's was also living in China. His friend was unable to stay at the dorms of a university in China. When his friend couldn't get a flight out, he asked David if he could stay with him.

Michael Sneddon, David's Brother: "He was probably watched. Justin is his name, and he probably was observed by the Chinese authorities and I suspect David has been watched ever since."

Which leads the Sneddon's to think David is being held somewhere and questioned.

Roy Sneddon, David's Father "Our feeling is he's alive. We don't know the circumstances by which he's unable to contact us.”

Of course, the Sneddon's say they don't have concrete proof of this, but they also say there is no proof David was the victim of foul play, or that he fell while hiking.

They are working with the American embassy in China to get some questions answered, but right now, there is nothing.
