OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- Retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Stephen "Pat" Condon of Ogden moves from president to chairman of the board of the Air Force Association Friday.
The beginning of the federal budget year Friday marked the end of Condon's two-year stint as president of the organization and the start of his two-year term as chairman.
Condon has commanded the Air Force Armament Laboratory, Arnold Engineering Development Center and Ogden Air Logistics Center,
He was recognized in September by Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. John P. Jumper, for his service as president, his contributions to Air Force readiness and his efforts to increase the quality of life for airmen in the United States and at bases around the world.
As chairman, Condon will be responsible for overseeing volunteer activities of the association, which has more than 200 chapters and more than 130,000 members. He will be the organization's primary contact to meet with members of Congress and senior Air Force leaders.
The Ogden resident is an aerospace consultant and senior associate at Dayton Aerospace Inc., in Dayton, Ohio, in addition to his volunteer activities with the association.
