A look at how NFL players will local ties did during the 4th weekend of the 2009 season.

  • TE Chris Cooley (Logan HS, Utah State) started for the Washington Redskins and caught 5 passes for 68 yards and 1 touchdown in a 16-13 win over Tampa Bay
  • NT Haloti Ngata (Highland HS) started for the Baltimore Ravens and recorded three tackles one for a loss, as well as a controversial roughing the passer call in a 27-21 loss to the New England Patriots
  • FS Eric Weddle (Utah) started for the San Diego Chargers and had 7 tackles, one for a loss, in a 38-28 loss to Pittsburgh
  • DE Brett Keisel (BYU, Snow) started for the Pittsburgh Steelers and recorded 1 tackle in a 38-28 victory over San Diego
  • TE Daniel Coats (Northridge HS, BYU) started for the Cincinnati Bengals and caught 4 passes for 36 yards in a 23-20 overtime victory over Cleveland
  • CB Sean Smith (Utah) started for the Miami Dolphins and had 2 tackles and 2 pass deflections in a 38-10 win over Buffalo.
  • FB Fahu Tahi (Granger HS, BYU) started for the Minnesota Vikings and caught 2 passes for 8 yards in a 30-23 win over Green Bay
  • OL Chris Kemoeatu (Utah) started at left guard for the Pittsburgh Steelers in a 38-28 win over San Diego
  • LB Brady Poppinga (BYU) played for the Green Bay Packers but did not record any stats in a 30-23 loss to Minnesota
  • OT Donald Penn (Utah State) started for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a 16-13 loss to the Washington Redskins
  • DT Sione Pouha (East HS, Utah) played for the NY Jets and recorded 3 tackles in a 24-10 loss to the New Orleans Saints
  • WR Austin Collie (BYU) played for the Indianapolis Colts and caught 6 passes for 65 yards and his 1st NFL touchdown in a 34-17 win over the Seattle Seahawks
  • LB Bryan Kehl (Brighton HS, BYU) played for the NY Giants and recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff and also recovered an onside kick in the 2nd half of a 27-16 win over the Kansas City Chiefs
  • DL Chris Hoke (BYU) played for the Pittsburgh Steelers in a 38-28 win over San Diego
  • DE Ryan Denney (BYU) played for the Buffalo Bills and recorded 5 tackles, one for a loss, a forced fumble and a sack in a 38-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins
  • FS Aaron Francisco (BYU) played for the Indianapolis Colts and recorded a tackle in a 34-17 win over Seattle
  • QB Alex Smith (Utah) backed up starter Shaun Hill in the 49ers 35-0 win over St. Louis
  • DB Jarrett Bush (Utah State) played for the Green Bay Packers and recorded a tackle in a 30-23 loss to the Minnesota Vikings
  • CB Brice McCain (Utah) played for the Houston Texans and recorded a tackle in a 29-6 win over Oakland
  • DE Jonathan Fanene (Utah) played for the Cincinnati Bengals but recorded no stats in a 23-20 overtime win over Cleveland
  • WR Todd Watkins (BYU) played for the Oakland Raiders and caught 2 passes for 20 yards and also had a special teams tackle in a 29-6 loss to the Houston Texans
  • OT Barry Sims (Park City HS, Dixie State, Utah) played for the San Francisco 49ers in a 35-0 win over the St. Louis Rams
  • DE CJ Ah You (Lone Peak HS, BYU, Snow) played for the St. Louis Rams and recorded his 1st career sack in a 35-0 loss to the 49ers
  • RT Kirk Chambers (Provo HS) started for the Buffalo Bills in a 38-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins
  • Long Snapper John Denney (BYU) played for the Miami Dolphins in their 38-10 win over his brother Ryan and the Buffalo Bills
  • DL Paul Soliai (Utah) played for the Miami Dolphins but did not record any stats in a 38-10 win over Buffalo
  • OG David Hale (Fremont HS, Weber State) played for the Baltimore Ravens in a 27-21 loss to the New England Patriots
  • LB Paul Kruger (Timpanogos HS, Utah) made his NFL debut and had one tackle off the bench for the Baltimore Ravens
  • LB Marques Harris (Southern Utah) played for the San Francisco 49ers and had one tackle in a 35-0 win over the Rams
