SANDY — The family of man killed in an accidental shooting has filed a wrongful death suit, according to the Deseret News.
Patrick Reuland was helping friend Judy Windfelder clear a rental property last April when a gun found at the property discharged, fatally wounding him.
Now his common-law wife and daughter are suing Windfelder, saying she should have made sure the gun was unloaded before picking it up.
Windfelder has already pleaded guilty to a charge of reckless endangerment in connection with the death.
