At 6:20 we talked with ABC Newsman Sam Donaldson about the President meeting with advisers over the next step in Afghanistan. Sam thinks that there will be more troops sent, but not the 40 thousand requested my Gen. McChrystal. He also believes that the solution will come when the local Afghans oust the Taliban and govern their own country without US or allied presence in the region.

At 6:45 we talked with Ellen Davis who is the vice president of the National Retail Federation about the forecast for the Christmas shopping season. She said while shopping will be down about 1% it is better than last year when shopping was down 2-3%. She talked about how consumers are changing the way they shop and how retailers are adjusting.
