LONDON -- The Utah Jazz's C.J. Miles is out indefinitely after injuring his left thumb during practice Monday in London.
The Jazz say Miles suffered a ruptured left thumb ligament which will require surgery to repair.
Miles was examined by team orthopedist Dr. Lyle Mason and is expected to return to Salt Lake City to have the procedure performed.
The amount of recovery time will not be determined until after surgery.
After starting in all 72 games played last season, Miles was battling for a starting spot at either guard or forward.
The Jazz are in London to play the Chicago Bulls Tuesday night at London's O2 Arena.
