Kimberly Houk ReportingPop star Ashlee Simpson failed to showed up at a planned appearance at Granger High School today, possibly because she's busy with damage control.
Simpson was caught in the act of "lip syncing" on live TV last weekend. She claims she has an explanation, but Granger High students aren't buying it.
Simpson got caught red-handed on live television. There has been a whirlwind of controversy surrounding the incident and the damage control has been kicked into high gear, keeping Simpson from performing at Granger High School this afternoon.

Ashlee Simpson, Performer: “My voice wasn’t strong enough to hold up…”
The reason she used is acid reflux. It's an explanation that the students aren't buying. Especially since Simpson was supposed to be at their school for an afternoon concert.
The students won a radio contest, but the only performer to show up was another up and coming pop singer Ryan Cabrera.
And today Cabrera was enough for these kids. But they still couldn't stop talking about Simpson's infamous Saturday Night Live performance.
Cynthia Yount, Granger High Student: “It’s a fun thing to see when you get to see stars mess up.”
And mess up she did at a time when she was trying to set herself apart from her more famous sister. And for better or worse, this just may be the thing that does it.
