SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Salt Lake City International Airport is getting an overhaul.

Airport officials are planning a major rennovation starting in February -- after the busy holiday travel season.

The baggage claim in Terminal two will be expanded. The four large baggage carousels will be replaced with smaller, faster ones and the area will be widened to avoid a crowded wait for bags.

Two new security checkpoints will also be added to the six that are already in place in Terminal Two. Airport officials hope to clear out the bottleneck that occurs at peak travel times.

Airport officials say the work will affect travelers, but they hope to keep the problems to a minimum.
