(KSL News) City funding for a 110 million dollar soccer stadium may fall short.
In August Sandy City leaders pledged 15 million dollars to the project, but now the team may only get 8- or 9 million from the city.
The Deseret Morning News reports the only way to bring in the full amount pledged is if the total value of the project is at least 135 million dollars. That way, the city can collect the money in tax-increment bonds.
Owner Dave Checketts wants officials to focus on the current funding amount.
An independent review of the team's finances is due back today. The County Council has asked the Debt Review Committee to have a recommendation by Tuesday.
