(KSL News) Former Salt Lake County Sheriff Aaron Kennard is heading to Washington DC.
The Deseret Morning News is reporting Kennard has accepted a job as executive director of the National Sheriff's Association.
The NSA is a non-profit organization that advocates for sheriff's offices across the country, to help them better serve their communities.
Kennard served as Sheriff for 16 years before losing to Jim Winder last November.
