SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Two Washington state men have been accused of illegally trafficking more than one-and-a-half (M) million contraband cigarettes.
James Russell of Tacoma and Roy Van Embden of Olympia are scheduled to be arraigned in federal court in Salt Lake City tomorrow.
The men are accused of possession about 80-thousand packs of cigarettes in Utah without any evidence that they paid the appropriate state cigarette taxes, which would be about 52-thousand dollars.
The estimated retail value of the cigarettes police say they found in a pickup trailer on December 15th near Green River was about 186-thousand dollars.
