(KSL News) A family party in Farmington went horribly awry last night.

The family had rented a pavillion at the Davis County Fairgrounds. Everything was fine until police say a 19-year-old man who had been invited to attend the party sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl.

Lt. Shane Whitaker/ Farmington Police Dept.: "Evidently when she walked outside of the building, he followed her out and then at that point they ended up here by the bleachers, where at that point the sexual assault took place."

The man took off when other family members discovered what was happening. Police say they know who the suspect is and are confident they'll make an arrest in the case.
