UDOT Closes Several Roads in Southern Utah Due to Severe Weather

SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah Department of Transportation advises motorists of several road closures in Southern Utah due to severe weather:

1. State Route 14 is closed from Cedar City to Long Valley Junction due to heavy amounts of snow. UDOT crews anticipate opening the road within two days.

2. State Route 143 is closed between Brian Head and Panquitch Lake due to heavy amounts of snow. Expected to remain closed for two to three days.

3. State Route 18 is closed between Beryl and Enterprise due to flooding.

4. State Route 56 is closed from the Nevada state line to the state Route 18 junction due to flooding.

Motorists are advised to visit www.commuterlink.utah.gov and to call 511, Utah's free Travel Information Line, to find the latest construction and road condition updates. UDOT urges motorists to reduce speeds and use caution when driving through work zones. Work schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather, equipment problems or emergency situations.
