OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- An Ogden resident has filed a lawsuit over the city's new aquatic center.
Dorothy Littrell has filed a lawsuit against North Ogden and its Redevelopment Agency.
She claims the city circumvented voters by going through the RDA to approve the four-point-two (M) million dollar aquatic center.
Last year, the city had to close the 40-year-old pool due to reconstruction costs outweighing the overall worth of the pool.
Last May, the city's RDA decided to move forward with a new pool using the city's sales tax increment over the next 20 years.
After 2006, tax increment funds will no longer be available for such a purpose.
This is the second time Littrell has filed a lawsuit against a Weber County city. She's currently suing Ogden over property rights in the Walmart case. That case is expected to go to court today.
