SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A new LDS exhibit that showcases the life and work of Joseph Smith will debut this weekend.

It's one of the first official bicentennial celebrations of LDS Church founder Joseph Smith.

The exhibit will have some documents and artifacts that have never been publicly displayed.

Museum officials began working on the exhibit more than a year ago. They formed several focus groups of church members to determine which items were of most interest.

The Museum of Church History and Art will open the exhibit called "Joseph Smith: Prophet of the Restoration" this Saturday.
