SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The trial for the former Salt Lake County mayor accused of misuse of public funds continues today after a three-day break.

Yesterday, Workman's attorney released a list of seven witnesses they intend to call. They include, Workman's deputy mayor Alan Dayton, former county councilman Russell Skousen and former county commissioner Brent Overson.

Since there is a gag order issued in the case, it's unknown exactly what those three will testify about.

Defense attorney Greg Skordas has not said whether or not Workman will take the stand.

Prosecutor Mike Martinez put six witnesses on the stand last week, the most damaging was chief administrative officer David Marshall. He said Workman misled him with regard to what the two employees would be doing.

The case is expected to go to the jury sometime over the next few days, perhaps as early as Wednesday.
