SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The wife of a prominent polygamist is scheduled to be in court today over the custody of her children.

Heidi Mattingly, who has eleven children with John Daniel Kingston, will be in a hearing to review allegations of abuse and neglect.

Eight of the children were taken into state custody in October. Two were removed in June.

One teen girl has been permanently placed with an aunt. The couple's youngest child is in the mother's custody.

The case against the couple began last year when a judge ruled two of their teenage girls were abused.

Two weeks ago, one of the children testified about an elaborate plot by the clan to kill the judge in the case and kidnap the children in state custody.

Today's hearing is scheduled at 2:30 p.m. at the Matheson Courthouse. Security is expected to be tight.
