PARK CITY, Utah (AP) -- For a third straight year, Deer Valley Resort has been named the No 1. ski resort in North America by a leading magazine devoted to the sport.

Readers of SKI Magazine voted Deer Valley tops overall out of 60 ski resorts. The Park City resort also won individual categories for grooming, mountain service, dining and lodging.

More than 20,000 readers participated in the survey, the most comprehensive of its kind.

Deer Valley's ratings has never dropped lower than third overall in the past nine years. It also ranked No. 1 in 2006.

Resort president and general manager Bob Wheaton says a third consecutive top ranking wasn't expected given competition from other fancy ski resorts around the U.S. and Canada.

Wheaton says his resort continues to invest mostly in staff to keep service levels high.
