SALT LAKE CITY -- Salt Lake's Tracy Aviary is once again accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
The Aviary lost the AZA's stamp of approval in 2006 due to problems with aging infrastructure at the facility. Since then, a $20 million bond was approved by voters and improvements at the aviary have begun.
On Monday the AZA said they were pleased with the work done and restored the aviary's standing.
To celebrate the news the aviary will offer free admission over UEA weekend -- October 1-4.
