HEBER CITY, Utah (AP) -- A competency hearing is scheduled today for the man who allegedly took hostages at a Heber City medical clinic in January.
35-year-old Royal Giles is charged with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault and impersonation of an officer.
Police said Giles held a man hostage at the Wasatch Medical Clinic after he became angry and afraid of a patient typing into a laptop computer.
He was later convinced to surrender, and there were no injuries.
The hearing is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. at Wasatch County Courthouse in Heber City.
