(KSL News) Police are left with a trail of clues but no arrest following a chase in Salt Lake.
It all started before 2:00 this morning. An officer stopped a man jaywalking on 900 East at 300 South. As the officer questioned the man, he took off.
Sgt. Paul Gardiner/ Salt Lake City Police Dept.: "All of a sudden the individual dropped a bag that he had and began running."
Police began to chase the man on foot, but were unable to find him.
Inside the bag, they found 16 thousand dollars in savings bonds, passports, and a death certificate. Investigators believe all the items were taken in a burglary.
